  • You are presented with a table
  • User selects a response option from each drop-down box
  • There is only one correct response option in each drop down box

Matrix Multiple Choice

About this item type:

  • Users are presented with a table.
  • Each row in the table has one correct answer.
  • Only one response per row can be selected.

Select N Multiple Response

About this item type:

  • This item type is like Select-All-That-Apply with a twist: you are told in advance how many items are correct (lets call that number N).
  • You are asked to select N responses and are awarded one point for every correct response, and no penalty for incorrect responses.
  • Since there is no penalty for incorrect responses, the you should select N responses. But you can still submit fewer than N responses.

Bowtie

About this item type:

  • Requires a user to make 5 selections (i.e. 2 Actions to Take, 1 Condition, and 2 Parameters to Monitor).
  • Selections are made by dragging tokens to the appropriate category.
  • Requires user to go through all steps of the Clinical Judgement Measurement Model to correctly answer the question.

Multiple Choice

About this item type:

  • User is provided data about a client situation and four options are given
  • Requires selection of a single correct answer that is worth 1 point

Fill-in-blank calculation

About this item type:

  • User is presented with a question and asked to calculate and type in the answer
  • On-screen calculator is available if needed
  • Must only type answer as a number, including decimal point if indicated

Hotspot

About this item type:

  • User is presented with a figure
  • Test-taker uses mouse to select an area of the figure

Ordered Response

About this item type:

  • Requires placement of options in a special order
  • Unordered options appear in a box on the left side, and items must be dragged to the box on the right side in the correct order
  • All options must be correctly placed to earn 1 point

Trend

About this item type:

  • Presented with information that is gathered over a period of time in exhibits on the left
  • Can have any question type on the right
  • May address multiple steps of the Clinical Judgement Measurement Model

1 point for each correct answer selected, deduction of 1 point for each incorrect answer selected
